Fall in Milwaukee is gorgeously bright with autumn colors. As we anticipate the fall season, it reminds us of the vibrancy of our schools & colleges! Discover the characteristics of each as told by fall foliage, and let us know which leaf describes you!

UWM

Oak leaf: CEAS and SOIS

Just as Oak leaves symbolize courage and strength, so do the College of Engineering & Applied Science and School of Information Studies. Focusing on technical topics, students in CEAS and SOIS stand strong under pressure, similar to the mighty Oak.

Elm leaf: SARUP and Lubar

A huge part of finding success is relying on your gut instinct, which is why the Lubar School of Business and School of Architecture and Urban Planning are represented by the Elm leaf. A symbol for intuition, students in these schools have big ideas and the inner strength to achieve them.

Apple tree leaf: PSOA and Health Sciences

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so you won’t be surprised to learn that the Apple tree represents a healthy lifestyle and even magic! Students of the Peck School of the Arts spin a little magic in their artwork and students of the College of Health Sciences are in constant pursuit of well-being for all.

Maple leaf: School of Ed and L&S

Pursuing degrees in the School of Education and College of Letters & Science require wisdom — whether in a teaching setting or finding your passion among the vast fields of study. Students in the School of Ed and L&S are represented by the wise Maple!

Cedar leaf: Nursing, Public Health and Social Welfare

The Cedar leaf is symbolism for healing & protection — a perfect description of the mission of students in the College of Nursing, the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health and the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare.

Birch leaf: Undecided

If you haven’t found your leaf yet, you may be an undecided Birch, which is the perfect place to be as Birch leaves are a sign for new beginnings & quests! We hope your academic quest at UWM is a rewarding experience.

Whether you’re a strong Oak or an undecided Birch, don’t forget that you have unique insights and strengths to share this fall semester! Which leaf are you?
