How to Celebrate Pride Month

Pride Month is celebrated every June, recognizing the importance of the LGBTQ+ community and honoring the freedom to be yourself. It is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, which began on June 28, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar located in Greenwich Village in New York City. The crowd threw bottles at police and protests spilled into the streets. The Stonewall Riots were followed by several days of demonstrations in New York, changing history forever for the LGBTQ+ community.

There are many opportunities to share your pride and support of the LGBTQ+ community throughout the month of June!
