Fall Activities in Milwaukee

It’s finally feeling like fall in Milwaukee and we’re so excited to be able to check some of our favorite activities off our list. Check out a few of the fall activities the Milwaukee area has to offer and enjoy the changing seasons!

Farmers Markets

There are several farmers markets in the area, all giving off immaculate fall vibes with local produce, flowers, handmade goods and delicious treats.

Fondy Farmers Market: Catch the regular market season until October 31 or check out their late season market from November 6–20.

South Shore Farmers Market: The South Shore market is open on Saturdays from 8 am to noon and runs until October 30.

Riverwest Farmers Market: Stop by the Riverwest market on Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm. The market runs until October 31.

Shorewood Farmers Market: Stroll through Estabrook Park on Sundays from 9:30 am to 1 pm and check out the Shorewood market. The market runs until October 31.

Apple Orchards and Pumpkin Patches

There’s no better way to celebrate sweater weather than apple picking or roaming through a pumpkin patch with friends. Here are some of our favorites in the Milwaukee area.

Apple Holler: This family business is a great spot to embrace the changing seasons and spend some time outdoors. Featuring 78 acres, apple picking and a tasty café, you can’t go wrong with an afternoon here.

The Elegant Farmer: Another family-run business, the Elegant Farmer is home to beautiful orchards, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and The Best Gourmet Apple Pie in America!

Cedarburg Creek Farms: Your one stop shop for all things fall, Cedarburg Creek Farms includes a pumpkin farm, petting zoo, hayrides, corn maze, barrel trains and more. We promise you won’t be short on things to do here.

Barthel Fruit Farm: Apple cider donuts. Barthel Fruit Farm also features a pumpkin patch, apple picking and a greenhouse. And did we mention apple cider donuts?

Swan’s Pumpkin Farm: This pumpkin farm is a great way to bring in the fall season. With activities labeled “scary stuff” and “not so scary stuff”, Swan’s offers activities for everyone.

Drive-In Movies

Head over to the Milky Way Drive-In all October long for Fright Nights. They’ll be showing fall-themed movies, both scary and sweet. Tickets are $35 per vehicle and you can even catch a double feature!

Hiking

Everyone needs to take a break every once in a while to unplug and de-stress. Lucky for you, Milwaukee is full of great nature walks to help you decompress from work and school while taking in the beauty of fall.

Grant Park: Want to immerse yourself in the fall colors? Look no further than Grant Park. This gem of south Milwaukee feature varied terrain hiking and is right on Lake Michigan so you can enjoy the calming sound of the waves.

Hubbard Park: Located near UWM’s main campus, Hubbard Park offers a great hiking trail, restaurant and great hills for longboarding.

Lake Park: Always one of our favorite spots, Lake Park is a short walk from campus and beautiful in every season. Looking for photo ops to switch up your Insta feed? Check out the lighthouse and the lion bridge.

Lakeshore State Park: Located behind the Summerfest grounds, Lakeshore State Park offers some of the best views in the city. Wander the path or go for a longer stroll and see the Milwaukee Art Museum. Either way, this is an autumn must-see.
