Halloween is one of our favorite times of year, but getting spooky on a college budget can be a trick instead of a treat. Here are a couple things you can throw together without even heading to the store!

Black Cat

Thrown on all the black clothing you have, draw on a cute little button nose and add a pair of cat ears for costume you can be #PantherProud of.

Where’s Waldo

If you’ve got a pair of blue jeans and a red-and-white-striped shirt, this costume is the perfect way to look great with minimal effort.

Holly Golightly

This one’s for all of our sleepy girls! Channel your inner Audrey Hepburn circa Breakfast of Tiffany’s (or Madeline circa Big Little Lies) with an oversized white button-down and an eye mask.

Lumberjack

For a super-easy look this Halloween, pick out your favorite flannel and pair of blue jeans! You can go as a lumberjack, Paul Bunyan or even the Bounty Paper Towel man.

Free Pen Guy

This costume is sure to keep you cozy and warm all night long. Layer a few sweatshirts and jackets, throw on a signature blaze orange beanie and don’t forget your pens!

Scarecrow

A quick trip to your makeup drawer will make this look a breeze! Add a plaid top, denim and a straw hat to make the final product perfect.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson

We love a relevant pop-culture costume. The only items this adorable couple’s costume are an oversized sweatshirt, track pants and red lollipops!

Snow White

A simple blue and yellow color block will turn you into the fairest of them all. Find seven friends to be your Grumpy, Dopey, Doc, Sneezy, Sleepy, Happy and Bashful!

Devil

For a costume you could even wear to class, pick out a red top and leggings to throw on under a classic pair of denim shorts! Comfy and cute without breaking the bank.

Burglar

All you require for this easy look is a black-and-white striped shirt and black beanie. Use your burglar bag to store all of your treats!

Eleven from Stranger Things

Everyone’s favorite Stranger Things character is easy to recreate. Find a pink dress, blue jacket and some tennis shoes to perfect the look.

Chancellor Mark Mone

You could go as business-man Chancellor Mone in a full suit, or you could throw on your cycling gear and go as athletic Chancellor Mone.

Minion

A yellow shirt and overalls will transform you into the perfect Minion!

Rosie the Riveter

The iconic Rosie the Riveter outfit is made up of denim, denim and more denim. Accessorize with combat boots and a bandana for true “We can do it!” power!

Beyonce

Queen Bey is sure to be a popular costume this Halloween (and every Halloween)! Take her ‘Formation’ look to the next level with a black dress, black tights, black hat and black boots. Don’t forget the jewelry and braids!

Superman

Throw a work-appropriate button-down over your superhuman shirt for this easy costume idea!

Wednesday Addams

The true queen of Halloween herself is a great idea and simple enough to recreate without changing the budget. Throw a collared button-down under a black sweater and tuck it all into a black skirt. Soon enough you’ll be creepy, spooky and altogether kooky.
